Post script

I don't normally post twice in one day, never mind twice in one evening.  In fact, posting once in one week can seem hard enough.  However, I'll just put up another brief epistle tonight as I'd meant to include this brahma in the main chapter, and some things are too good to let go to waste.  Anyway, I just wanted to share with you my nomination for 'Quotation of the Week'.  (And you'll notice that I'm one of those boring pedants who regard 'quote' as a verb and 'quotation' as the noun, just as 'invite' is a verb and 'invitation' is the noun).

Anyway, Quotation of the Week was in yesterday's Racing Post, which passed on the gem of wisdom that, "The mistake people make is they believe the horse business is about horses".  So now I know where I went wrong as that was what I always believed.  Still do, in fact - which only goes to prove the old exclamation that, "Some people just can't be told!"  I hasten to add, of course, that the source of this wisdom has been far more 'successful' (whatever that means) in 'the horse business' than I'll ever be.  And, in case you're wondering, this young hedgehog has been this stable's Hedgehog of the Week.
